The siding comes in different widths, two ft, four ft wide etc. The pattern runs the long way. A roof is made with two special seams call S-locks. The roof is 9' wide and as long as your camper plus the two over laps.
Hemet has raw white aluminum stock in rolls and runs it thru rollers to make the pattern, they have lots of options.
My '84 had a 4" pattern, the newer ones look smaller 3"??.
I went with the 4", even though I bought all new metal and could have changed it.
