Just picked up my new Fleet Shell from Sean at Go Anywhere!! Woohoo! Now I'm busy tricking it out. Ordered the shell with a propane tank cabinet big enough for two 10 lb tanks.

Looking at tanks online and Home Depot has Worthington Pro Grade 11lb tanks for $56.97 which seems like a good deal compared to other stores. Will 11lb tanks fit? Have never used tanks this size and not sure if there is a big difference in size between 10 and 11lb tanks.

Here's a comparison of 10# and 11# DOT approved propane tanks. Capacity is simlar but looks like the difference is height and diameter. 17.4"x8.9" versus 12.4"x12.2", respectively. The 11# tank is shorter and with a larger diameter. Two11# tanks won't fit in my cabinet.

I read your post a day late and $36.00 short (shipping) having just ordered the Manchester 10# tank. :cautious:
The Manchester 11# tank is a rather squat shape like JHa6av8r said, however the Worthington 11# tank is 16.8 x 9.1. With free shipping from Home Depot Online the Worthington 11# is a good deal. The interior dimensions of the FWC plastic propane box in my Fleet is 19.5"h x 11.5"w x 17.5"d .

Cheers

A more crucial dimension is the actual width of the opening at the propane door. That number is 10-3/4"

Good point ! I mounted mine on the side of the Fleet and the door only opens to 10-1/2" do to the jack.
