12V LiFePo4 batteries, choices, education 2date

Vic,

I communicated with a Sterling rep and as best I understand the Sterling device can accommodate large current differential and regulates the current so it is not a problem for the unit.

It cannot provide the capability to provide a jump of the starter battery from the house battery however.

The battery chemistrys can be different, so the starter battery can be say FLA and the house battery bank can be something else (LiFePO4, AGM etc).

Both the ProMariner ProNautic and Sterling Power Pro Charge Ultra devices use the same, jointly developed, technology so there may be a price advantage buying one over another.

Seems like this will do what Mark wants.

Craig & Vic ..... I also called. Thanks to you both, & others, I knew what questions to ask that were important to me with my intended application. Initially I will abandon the engine to house connection, so no Sterling B2B unit needed, but I may soon find it is necessary. Glad I know what to get for a healthy engine recharge to my LiFePo4 battery. According to who I talked to at Sterling (guy in the video?) it will also prevent Ah/V back-flow drainage (due to the resulting voltage differential) from house to engine. Did you guys get that from the literature? I asked specifically about that issue. I will check out both companies.
