this setup would average right at 14 mpg. When I would take the camper off and run with a shell I average 19-21 highway. When we took this rig to Mexico running Copper Canyon mostly offroad for 2500 mile trip mileage dropped to 11. Sold this truck in 2017 and replaced it with a Ram 2500 4wd, with the 6.4 Hemi and highway mileage is sitting right at 12 with camper, 17 highway without.Nicoclaro said:Jealous. I've got a 2013 750SS on my 2016 Taco 4 door long bed and it's def under powered. More importantly (because I don't mind going 45 in 3rd gear over mt pass above 10% grade) I am averaging 14 MPG. The taco is my daily driver in a busy city so 3/4 ton never was that appealing but now I am really curious what your average MPG is with this set up?
Happy trails (w/ the wife)
My truck is automatic. To use the exhaust brake I ran an ATS co-pilot. it locks the torque converter up while using the exhaust brake. I also had a ats valve body that allowed me to have full lock up in any gear, high of low range.2tallDA said:Driller,
Is your 2000 a manual or auto?
A Pacbrake and a manual sure helps with the woah factor.
truck is standard bed. air bags @ 50lbs.sunvalleylaw said:Hey, is that truck a standard or long bed? Looks standard (6.3ish feet) to me, but wanted to be sure. My Camper is the Northstar 800 without any bathroom but an 8 footer. Prior owner used it with an 8 foot bed, but it will work with a 6.3ish or 6.5. Just trying to decide while truck shopping.
