A couple of weeks ago I was having issues with my Zamp flexible 100 watt panels...........I had 2 of them. For some reason the Charge controller was not showing any juice coming from the panels. I contacted Zamp and they walked me thru some trouble shooting, short story, I had zero volts to either panel, both panels DIED. I have no idea how, they were only 15 months old. Zamp warranties the Flex panels for 5 years so no big deal right.........
Well I understand why, but I would have to first remove the old panels, send to Zamp, they would test and then send me replacement panels. I could not go to Hallmark, have them remove the panels and wait weeks to get new ones back. So I bought new ones upfront and then they will send replacements after they receive my old ones.
I made an appointment at Hallmark, and ordered new panels thru a dealer in Grand Junction, Colorado. I was going right thru there, so I picked them up on my way to Fort Lupton. Also, I figured I would get larger and hard panels. I ended up buying (2) 170 watt panels which would give me plenty of power...........140 more than I currently had. Bill and Matt took care of me and I am very happy with how it came out. They fabricated a system to use my tracks which I had previously installed by them. I think it looks great and now I have plenty of Solar for my Back-county trips............
As stated, I will send the old panels back and they will replace them with 115 watt hard panels. Not sure yet if I will sell them to recoup the cash I put out or keep one panel and possibly mount on my Tacoma...........
