I'm in great health, just a back with bad discs so this was the 2nd time under the knife. Sore but not painful, took 4 dogs out for a little walk. I'm just about 110 hours since they chopped so not bad really. Has slowed my fixing up my little toy hauler and the house is getting a little dirtier but considering they took out a lot and then stick in what I refer to as the chip clip to hold L2/L3 together I won't complain. It was a bit depressing but seems like i will be out camping before too long :)
The hard part of getting it done was that I had been feeling better and if I thought I could have maintained that I wouldn't have gone ahead with it but the docs thought it was inevitable that the nerves would get screwed again with a good chance of paralyzing the legs  So bite the bullet rather than end up crippled in some remote campsite hundreds of miles from a real hospital, (mandatory picture).

Yikes, barko. Makes me hurt just lookin at it.

I've spent about 15 years avoiding the knife. (L2-3-4-5....C-2-3-4) It seems once you start there is no end. (it took me many years/queries to my doc before he finally told me this)

I hope it all works out for ya and things heal quickly so you can "get out there"!

Barko I feel your pain I have lived my whole life missing L4 & 5 they never developed. The doctors told my folks i was wheel chair bound by age 30. I rode motocross, atv's a big no no!
I can only drive four hrs before my legs go numb. I turned 51 last week and know my days for the knife are coming. I hope you the Very best!

Yeah, these docs aren't big on motocross are they  I crashed pretty hard 2 months after my L4/5 surgery, vertebra were fine but the spine hip alignment got out of whack. I have an extra bone in my spine, maybe you could use it :) I'm familiar with where you are! My dad was born at Lake Geneva and I have dairy farming relatives up there I stay connected to. My FWC was there last 4th of July.

El Barko, best of luck with a continued and complete recovery. Take good care of that back.

Gracias!!! A few nights camping might speed recovery :D
