Adding Removable Side Racks for Surfboards and SUP's

Been looking for a way to make a removable rack to carry Longboards and SUP's that will not fit in the camper. I did not want to add additional weight to the top as I already have two solar panels. Here is what I came up with...

I can easily mount and remove with or without the jacks and can take up to 3 longboards over 8'6".

I ended up having some racks that I was not using. I think they were about $30 for the set and drilled two holes 5.5" apart. Also, I found some rubber chair caps to protect the end and keep water out.

I would leave the jacks at home. 100 lbs and a chance of someone backing into them and damaging your camper. jd

Good idea, do you have board bags to protect from tires throwing off rocks?

Hopefully a lane splitting motorcyclist doesn't take the boards out or vice versa.

Great idea! We need to do this. Where did you get those racks? All the SUP and Surfboard racks I'm finding online don't look thick enough to drill bolt holes through. The burliest one I've found is this one: Extreme Max 3005.3477 SUP / Surfboard Wall Cradle Set - The Original High-Strength One-Piece Design - 200 lb. Capacity.
