I am getting ready to order a new Hawk for my Toyota Tundra.

I have decided on all of the options with the exception of the optional air conditioner. This air conditioner replaces the small passenger back window and protrudes out the back quite a ways. I hate the way it looks, but am torn because I find it difficult to sleep when things get too hot.

I was planning to run the air conditioner with a Honda 2000 generator.

Anyone out there with first-hand experience with this option?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Where are you located? Are you somewhere where a evaporative cooler would suffice? If so, the Swampy is a good solution. It is a DC powered evaporative cooler... you can see the details of it here.

I as well as some others on this site have one. I have used mine in the garage so far, but have yet to use it on the trail. I'm sure we will make use of it shortly though with things getting a little warmer out in AZ.

Thanks for the information CJ8Rockcrawler.

I live in California, but was born and raised in Arizona. I plan to make many trips to Arizona, some of them in the summer.

I don't have your camper but I'm glad I have AC. A great mod.
