Alaskan Camper skin

I've been working on my old recently purchased 1978 CO, the more I look at it...the more I just want to strip off the old skin and start afresh with new. As most of you know it's very expensive to order from Alaskan...has anyone had success sourcing it elsewhere?
Has anyone had success getting a local sheetmetal shop to form the 4 inch break pattern? Thanks!
