I decided to go with the air-lift setup per everyone's recommendations. I don't intend to keep the camper very long, but I figured that it was more than worth the extra considering that the truck will be used for hauling moderate loads from time to time.
The installation was pretty simple. Its saving grace was the utilization of factory holes. The instructions contained nice diagrams, but the text was lacking. There were also some interesting inconsistencies, "Inflate to 20ft-lbs" was one of my favorites....
