ANY PLANS FOR A RALLY 2015/SUGGESTIONS

The upper end of Bowman Lake looks good, open camping, no charge. Looks like good camping, or even east of the lake. USFS campground, I like the edge of lake.

Bumping this to see if anything has been figured out for an October gathering. I have to take some time at the beginning of the month and probably won't be able to get to the desert but norcal might be an option otherwise it'll be the PNW or up to Squamish.

How about the Monitor Range.Maybe Spencer Hotsprings late Oct-early Nov.Warm days-cool nights.

Might be interesting Russ. I had planned to be on the tract of Jack Longsteet, a tad south of there in the Stone Cabin Valley and later on up into the Edwards Creek/Austn area sometime later this Fall. Lots of interesting sights and things to see in that whole central Nevada area-just have to watch the weather close. Yep, might be worth thought or two-but would Nevada be ready for WTW? Have to go to the doctor in Reno in a couple of weeks so maybe I might just keep on going east from there and take one of those great geographic loops and come back via Austin, Lovelock, Pyramid Lake, Smoke Creek Desert and then home; sort of sniff around ya know :) ! Hmmmm, the making of a plan :giggle: me thinks.

I just spend 5 days in the Bowman lake area. Plenty of open spaces for rigs.while the lake is a bit low, yo can camp really close to it.

What about SW Oregon, Lost Creek Lake has a large "group" site. It's not far from Interstate 5 and on the way to Crater Lake. There is also dispersed camping near there.

East of the Cascades there is the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route, or sections of it. It would make for a good "loop" with dispersed camping every night (or campgrounds). You can kind of pick your poison, depending on what section of it or what loop you decide to make. Can start in SE Oregon near Lakeview (Section One, Route Five) and end up near Crater Lake (from Section One of Route Five, over Route 2 near Summer Lake to Hwy 97 or continue from Route 2 to Route 6 over to Interstate 5 for a quick drive (north or south) home).
