If when you installed a battery, did you vent it?

Depends what kind of battery. AGM and lithium don’t need to be vented, flooded lead acid does.

Yup, makes sense. Just bought this camper, it's a 1978 CO which has had some restoration work done but in need of a little more TLC.
I have a lead acid with box on hand so for now I'll just lash it down in the bed ahead of the fender well.
Going to install a propane fridge and a few other creature comforts then go try it out and see if we like it and then go from there.
