According to a zoo official- the bear was just being a bear...

From the article: "Rocks and other items in the exhibit that bears are strong enough to lift are supposed to be secured in place, Fisher said. In the wake of this incident, “we’ll have to go back through the exhibit and anchor down anything they can lift.”"

This grizzly is probably an example of some kind of sped up evolution -- bears getting super-smart. I bet the Syfy Channel will have a movie about the genius-grizzly threat by next season.
