Carol was invited to help our neighbor Lisa with a bee hive inspection. Lisa’s bees trespass on our forb plot for pollen and nectar and take it back to her hives. It’s great to have her bees pollinating all the local plants. Our other neighbor has a mixed hay field that they also pollinate. It amazes me that such a small insect is so critical in sustaining plant and human life.
Lisa preparing with her suit. She stores garden and bee keeping supplies in this she shed. She commissioned me to build this shed two years ago all from reclaimed house and barn materials.

Carol ready for battle.
Its been very educational for Lisa, a newbie bee keeper and us learning from her experience. Soon she will deliver some very local honey to us. Her honey is light in color and very good and doesn’t last long in the pantry. Native plants and less processing makes her honey extra special.
