The bolts that attach the camper to our truck come loose every so often, especially this winter. We hand tighten them quite a bit. But we'd prefer they not come lose. Is there a trick or gadget others have used to keep the bolts from coming loose?

Thanks again,
Joanie

Bolts or turnbuckles? If it is bolts, a lock washer or a lock nut should do the trick. If it is the turnbuckles, then a lock nut on the "hook" part of the set up should hold it tight in most situations. You can try aplying Locktight on the threads but this would make it REALLY hard to remove them. Do a search for loose turnbuckles and you will find some more information. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks for your response

Thanks. We will check into that. We also read the whole thread about bolts pulling the truck bed apart. There was some good info in there. Ours is starting to pull apart and we've only had it about 6 months. We need to work on our solution.

Cheers,
Joanie

See All Terrain Camper forum and thread, Camper Care and Tips, (second one from top) for how to deal with turnbuckles.
