Camper off truck! Whoa! Storage questions!

A lot of this is if the camper is outside and snow is possible, I’d leave it down but not clipped closed. In the winter months the relative humidity is low due to air temperatures so a dehumidifier shouldn’t be needed with a little ventilation. A lot has to due to your ‘clime and place’.

southern Illinois right now and camper is set outside.
So yah, humidity and will have winter with snow here.

Should I get something more smaller like a little desk fan?

If you have a fantastic fan on roof ...open the cover and put on low on humid days ...otherwise the lower window opening and the higher roof vent will naturally create a flow of warm air up and out. IMO you don't need a fan.

I plan on making a cart with heavy casters so that we can store ours in the garage. For now, it is outside. I just lowered the rear jacks about 5 cranks each so rain will drain off the roof. I like the idea of storing it with the roof up because I feel like the fabric will last longer that way, but I won't do that until it is in the garage so that its not getting hammered by UV.

Last winter was the first we had our 2017 FWC Fleet. I had intended to take it off the truck for the winter but that never happen. We used the camper in Utah as early as February. In any case I didn't do much of anything other than winterize the water system, remove snow off the roof and frequently check that the solar panel was keeping the batteries charged properly. Probably just dumb luck but we had no problems, no leaks, no condensation and no critters but after reading all this I'm thinking maybe I should be a little more careful this winter.

How did you drain the dehumidifier? Did you just check the bucket frequently, or run a hose out somewhere?

I just saw your question. I check every few days. The dehumidifier shuts off automatically when full.

I have a new Fleet (March 2018) and this is my 1st time winterizing. Everything went well until I attempted to remove the dual 6 volt battery’s in order to bring them inside and place them on a trickle charger. I couldn’t get the battery’s out. Tried to slide the left battery to the left so I could get out the battery on the right but it wouldn’t budge because of a hose and wire conduit on the left. I gave up and hooked it back up to solar. Anyone else have a problem getting dual batteries out?
