I will be swapping out my 100ah lithium in the camper for a 200ah lithium. I would like to put the 100ah in one of my boats to run things like my trolling motor, downriggers and a crab pot puller (not all at once of course). In this boat I have a SLA starting battery. What would be the proper way to wire the new lithium so that it will be charged from the outboard while underway?

I would use one of the DC-DC chargers such as those from Victron. Keep in mind that your outboard charging system likely has lower charging amps available than your truck. My Yamaha 90 has only a 25 amp alternator and it must keep the starting and house batteries happy until I can plug in the onboard shore power charger.

Good point Paul. My Tohatsu 60 only puts out 21 amps. Perhaps it is not worth it and I should just rely on my lithium charging from shore power. I may just instal a shunt and run some of the proposed equipment to see what I'm up against.
