i made the bold remark that we were going up the coast on a slow trip.but never made it started out in Borrego Springs area for a few days then stopped in San Diego for a couple of days, watched the bass fishing contest that was held on shelter island got my juices flowing as they now have kayak division as this is one of our sports i'm going to have to start entering they had 35 kayak's entered and first prize was $1700 not bad for a days fishing!not that i need a excuse to go fishing!(had to throw in picture of my favorite pelican who has been on pier for at least 5 years!) so we got tired of traffic and headed back to the desert.pictures show the old road from Culp valley (above Borrego Springs)to Ranchitea a nice area with few people spent 3 days in this area hiking etc.then spent a day going back down through grapevine canyon only a couple of pictures as i left extra batteries at home along with charger.drive slow and enjoy" its the journey"
