About to take a long trip and for this trip we are all set with what we have found works and so we are going with it. We have a portable-potty in the camper and carry a collapsible wag bag seat that separates liquids and solids... great for boon docking.

That said I have looked at these two composting toilets and read here on the forum that they are both liked very much. Pretty scary prices for both but when it comes to daily comfort and long trip ease of 'maintenance' they are probably worth it. Certainly ecologically speaking.

I have an Eagle and the space where the porta-potty fits by the back door is a limiting factor. (I could spend some time resizing the side dinette seat by 1" (a necessity if I decide on the OGO) Not needed with the Cuddy. Of course after watching YouTubes it is apparent to me the Ogo is higher 'end' being agitated by motor., Then there is the Cuddy having a charcoal fan filter which the Ogo does not. One is $720 and the other is $1150 (holy crap!)

Those prices seem nuts but I spent that on a battery! Comfort in old age is worth a bit.
So any folks that have personal experience in these two I'd like to hear your thoughts. Also any potty jokes from others always entertains!

Sorry - no experience with either of those but my next build will likely be a Compocloset Cuddy.

I’ve had a Nature’s Head for nearly five years and absolutely love composting/separating toilets! It’s an amazing way to manage #1 & #2 without a black tank, without chemicals and smells - easy to dispose of your business and NO smells.

That said, for the price I paid for my Nature’s Head, the overall fit and finish isn’t great and customer service sucks, at least in my experience.

So, next one won’t be Nature’s Head and I love the lower profile of the Cuddy along with some features they added during development and listening to their prospective customers. It shouldn’t be too long to be able to find real world experiences as they are starting to make there way into people rigs.

Hope this helps a little.

Rob, is the “holy crap” an intentional play on words? IMNTK
Gee I wonder! With my last name Lord ...I'm allowed.

I have now watched 6 (3 each) videos on the two and it seems Ogoi has the right idea as far as the mixer is concerned. A round solids container and the stir wands covering all area. The Cuddy's mixing wands miss 30% of the mix as it is a rectangular container. In so as well dumping out is always easier with a round container.
It is a wad of money and the Ogo would mean I'd need to alter the dinette seat cabinet. I do love a puzzle top solve and if I survive the Baja trip I think I am leaning Ogo.

let us know what you choose, and your thoughts. tod gru on here is a big proponent of the ogo. he just mentioned it in his baja trip report.

Indeed I read that. Seems he has given it a good test flight. I will wait to after my return from our winter trip. Then i'l be able to ascertain if the mods to the side dinette base cab can be done w/o too much hassle. The vent seems to be a perfect sidewall exit on the last 12" of the caper which hangs out over the bumper. I would sure like to have one if possible.

One thing I am hoping is that folks who go the compost toilet avoid buying Peat Moss which is not a good thing to use. As in Ireland they are banning the cutting of peat (a very hard cultural thing to do....our family has had the same peat field for 400 years). In any case it is better if it stays in the ground in its current state. A wonderful alternative is reusuing a waste product from harvested coconuts. Coconut Coir.

I’ve never used peat moss (and n part for the sustainability reasons) and my favourite medium is coconut coir. I’ve even ordered some from Amazon in small quantities (look up Poo Poo Pucks) which is extremely convenient.

I’ve also had good luck with hamster bedding material which is easy to find when coconut coir is tougher to find.
