And no signs of slowing down. I shudder to think what the acreage estimate will be when I get up in the morning :(

There was a story in the morning paper about 4 backpackers escaping
the Creek fire. They had to abandon their car and hike back to Reds Meadow
to the other car. Then drive to the friends home in Mammoth Lakes.
Very scary time.

I've been following this one closely since I have several friends living in Shaver Lake and that area has some of the best 4x4 trails in the state. For those familiar with the area I just read that Cressman's Store at the top of the 4 lane has burned.

I took this picture at 8:15 am on our morning walk.We are getting high level very thick smoke from this fire.
It's moving West toward Monterey Bay area.
It's blocking out so much sun it's like walking early evening. All the "dark" activated lights are on.
Now at noon it's not much better. Not much sun making it through and the temp is 59*.

This has been a very strange day.On our walks around our area few birds around.
Although "my" group of wild turkeys are out and about.
They provide us with a good entertainment.

Today sky a little bit brighter. Not as orange.
Still it's dark in the house, more like early evening.
There's so much stuff in the air mixed with the fog.
My house solar system is a 3600w system,it's barely putting out
.1kw. Yesterday it produced .85kw for the whole day.

At least the smoke is high up and we don't get any smell.
Also not complaining though. There are a lot of people in far worse
situations.Just thankful we have what we have.

My friend's house in Big Creek and his mom's house, also in Big Creek, have apparently both survived. We're still waiting to hear if my friend's house in Meadow Lakes was in the block along Auberry Rd. that reportedly survived.
