Good time of year and thanks for sharing the pictures.

When you were there did you see a lot of flower bloomage? I't is iffie if they had rain and at what elevation it's happining. Don't know if we will make it down there this year.

Did you go out to Big Pine by Eureka Sand Dunes after going by Barker Ranch? You can camp at the Dunes now.

Nice LM!

Did you get the creeps at Barker Ranch? I know I did and not just from all of the mouse poop either. From the outside it looked like a neat little place. But I have to admit walking through the cabin and peaking into the bathroom gave me the willies. Bad jou-jou there.

Great shots, hope you enjoyed your trip -

Nice shots LM...but after a wonderful trip through Death Valley all we get is three pics??? C'mon, there's gotta be a few more!! :D

Ok here are a couple more pics. The first picture is a "shortcut"from I-15 through the Kingston range to Tecopa on the way to DV.Next is a picture nobody wants to see, taken in Shoshone outside the park.Gas inside the park was 3.80 (Reg gas only) Also Charcoal Kilns near Wildrose Pk.There were wildflowers but I didn't take any pictures of them.

I have always wondered about that trip from th I15 to DV.

Is that the one that starts at Baker, home of the worlds largest thermometer??

Got any more shots??

SHOTS? who said shots?? I'm having a tequila just for that.

TT-
Yes, that's the road from Baker...Hwy 127...takes you by Dumont Dunes to Shoshone. I used to drive that road w/ regularity to visit my Dad until it became cheaper to fly to Vega$ and rent a car. He lives just NE of Shoshone in Pahrump...very cool drive...and kinda spooky late at night!! Tecopa is pretty cool too, some hotsprings and a date farm but not much else.

The road thru the Kingston Range that I took is about 25 miles east of Baker. It is alot nicer than the road from Baker. It is a little rough in spots but much more senic. There are hotsprings in Tecopa, always a plus. The usual amount of played out or abandoned mines are seen along the way.I checked out the China Date Ranch just before Tecopa.I have also included a picture of the Pelton water wheel at Scotty's Castle,I thought it was pretty cool!

The road was real good.Smooth as could be from Ballarat till about 3 or 4 miles before the entrance to Goller Wash. Then the road got pretty washboardy. The road up the canyon itself was fine.

LAWNMOWERMAN-
Where exactly does that road you took through the Kingston Range start? I'm not familiar with that at all.

The road that I took through the Kingston range is about 26 miles east of Baker. There is a rest area at that exit and you head north. At about 10 miles in,take the fork to the left. From I-15 to Tecopa it is a little over 40 miles. You can see it on a regular California Hiway Map.

Here is a link to a pretty interesting video of Barker Ranch. It is a little long but worth taking a look at.
