Dometic RTX 1000 AC for Four Wheel Camper Hawk

[SIZE=10pt]· [/SIZE]I have a 2017, Fully equipped 4 Wheel Camper Hawk Center Console on my 2002 Chevy Duramax pickup. One fantastic, rear. Has propane heater but no AC. I am wondering if and/or how the 12v Dometic RTX 1000 would work for me. Could a battery bank operate the unit for 6-8 hours? If so, what type, size, etc concerning battery bank? Anyone with experience, knowledge and/or installation tips?

Yes you could run it off a large battery bank. It draws 10 amps, so to run it for a straight 8 hrs and not exceed drawing you batteries down to a critical level of 50%( not recommended to do on a regular basis by most battery manu.)you'll need a minimum of at least 160 amp/hr bank and thats if nothing else is running on 12v.
