I'm working on a project and wondering if one could drill a small hole and put a screw into the black plastic trim that runs along the exterior corners. I assume it is just hiding the screws that hold the corner together. Anybody do this?

Yes, it hides the screws underneath and is held in place on the ends with a pop rivet and large washer. Holes drilled through would go through and into the interior of the square aluminum tube framing. Would you want to seal it in some way? I'd call ATC and ask. 1(800) 446-1003

I think that a screw going through the plastic trim piece would seal, given the plastic trim piece is very flexible. Probably want to put silicon sealant on the screw as well just to be sure. The trick is to not hit the head of the screws already in there.
