I recently hung one of these off the spreader bar for my tarp-awning:

It lights up an impressively large area, but does not overwhelm it with light. Light color does veer towards blue though, not bad but if you're sensitive to that sort of thing it's worth knowing. I'm considering tapping into the reverse lights to turn it on with a relay.

I got these 18 watt Led lights from ebay for thirty a piece. Very bright, better flood than the original lights.

Is it possible to add flood lights if your camper doesn't have them factory installed?

Anything is possible. ;) Basically you'd have to route wires one way or another that would be the hardest part after the fact.

I have one rigid dually on the back in yellow that I really like. Wasn't hard to wire it at all.

It seems (like pods8 said) that routing the wires would be the hardest part, since your camper didn't come with rear floods from the factory.

I will say thanks, for the idea to upgrade if/when my halogen's burn out. It would seem that the LED's would have considerably less battery draw than the halogen's.

Nice find, I appreciate the post...

(p.s. MakersTelemark: my favorite sticker is "Do it anywhere in a FourWheel camper")

After examining my 2002 Grandby, this looks like way too much disassembly for me. I think the refer would have to come out and possibly the countertop. I think I'll try a clear lens and a super bright LED for the porch light. One lesson I've learned, even if you don't think you need it, have Four Wheel wire every option when they mfg your camper. (rear and side lights, solar, on-board battery, etc.)

This is the quick fix I went for. I kept the amber lens, though.
What I really like is that I can leave the porch light on for hours and not worry about it.

There's been a few times, when that's the only way I can find the camper after doing some night hiking / photography.

Looks like I got lucky , its already wired for spot lights ! , now just gotta find the ones I want .

Andy, are you saying you just replaced the incandescent bulb in your stock porch light with an LED replacement? Sounds like a great plan, do you have a part number or source to share? Thanks!

One thing that was prewired on my camper was a wire for a porch light on the awning side. Of course I didn't know it was there until I drilled a hole. Pleasant surprise. I'd check with Stan, just possible the wiring for the floods is already there.

I'm going to the Four Wheel meet-up in Sonoma on the 21st. I plan to ask a few questions about what may or may not be hiding in the walls of my Grandby.

We're going to that also. Looking forward to meeting you.

Sorry, it's been a while and I don't have the receipt to ID the exact bulb. I think it was one of these here. As you said, I just changed bulbs, not the fixture. I also did the same to change the primary light on the two incandescent interior lights to LED.

If you search through the forums here, you should find a wealth of info
