I'm looking at buying an FWC locally that is a fleet model chopped 10 inches to fit a 5 -foot bed. The current owner has it installed with external turnbuckles. As I understand it, you can't use the regular tacoma brackets for internal mounting with these trucks, as there is no space in the bed in front of the wheel wells.
He would include the torklift brackets as well, which he has mounted to his 2nd gen DC. But looking at my frame, I'm worried they wouldn't fit without blocking the rear doors. The torklift fitting guide on their website does not turn up a recommended model for a 1st gen DC.
Anybody actually done this?
