Trading our standard cab 2017 F-150 for a new 2020. Our 2017 payload 2150 with bags and a Grandby was a very nice combo. The new truck will be more suited for our needs. I spent lot of time researching on the WTW before choosing the current ordered truck. Finally today we made the trade with our local dealer. Specs as followed: 2020 F150 XLT supercab/ 163.7 WB/ 4x4 / 5.0L /10 speed tow haul trans/ HDP package 2760 /GVWR 7850/ 3.73 locking RR axle/ navigation/ 36 gal fuel/ integrated brake controller/ tow package/tailgate step/ 40/console/40 seating/ 301A package/ 18” aluminum wheels with C/AT tires/ exterior color Megnetic to match our Grandby. This rig will house two humans and a golden retriever for long trips. This rig will also be my camping/ tow rig for a 3500 lb Ranger bass boat. Delivery 8-12 weeks looking forward on putting this ford on the road. Can’t wait to post pics and performance numbers to share on the site.

That payload for a half ton truck is amazing!
Ford definitely has it going on with their F-150. The standard cab with a 8’ box and the HDP package has a payload rating of 3150!

I'm a Super Duty guy, but even as a Super Duty guy, I have to admit, that's exactly how I would have optioned an F150. Well done!

Thank you!

Depending on how much off road you do, & what kind, (obviously w/o your Ranger) consider trading in your C tires with your dealer for E rated, same size. I have basically the exact version w/Grandby you are getting. I kicked myself a bit after my purchase. I had wanted to trade upfront & whiffed on it. I figured then to later swap with my next set. But after 7500 miles I felt it necessary, with my use ratio, to swap them out. I am happy now with that change & the extra beef E tires bring for multiple reasons. Love my truck so far, congrats!

I have a 2017 F150 4x4 Super Crew with the 3.5L Ecoboost, 10 spd, max tow pkg, etc. Do not have the payload package as I'm towing now with no camper. Great truck. Been very impressed so far. Had an older school '99 F250 SC 4x4 with 5.4L V8 for 20 years that I carried my FWC on. From a towing standpoint, the F150 with the Ecoboost significantly outperforms the older V8.

Thanks! Yep the E tires will be in the future. 95% of our travels are on paved roads 20% with the FWC/boat combo. I remove the FWC for everyday use and store the unit. I currently have E tires with bags and it handles wonderful. I will check on the E tire swap at the dealer. Thanks for the comments!

My current 2017 with the 3.5/10 speed is a impressive machine. I have 60k on it and will be a great truck for the future owner. I chose the 5.0L for the new truck based on the long term ownership. This will be my last truck for many years.
