F150 with 3.0L PowerStroke Diesel

Sure a lot of engine choices. I find it reassuring, Ford is still working on higher fuel economy/less pollutants,
as the EPA under direction of its head to get rid of those ideas.
Not in the market for a new truck but would look at them if needed.
Thanks.

I'm really glad that Ford has finally realized that they can't force all their customers into an EcoBoost gas engine as many of us (for a variety of reasons) don't want one. We recently spent a few weeks in Costa Rica where we were able to drive their diesel Rangers and were very impressed with the ride over rough roads and crossing small rivers. I hope that it comes to the US.

This diesel truck will in all likelihood be going up against the new Jeep Wrangler pick up and as many of you know Jeep already has a 3 L EcoDiesel. I have one in our Grand Cherokee and think it's a fantastic power plant. Up to 30 mpg on the highway and a range of 700 miles makes the small Diesel engine a serious contender for any serious overlander

Bingo on that. I am getting 30 mpg highway on the 2016 Chevy Colorado 2.8 Duramax diesel (once 33.5! must have been a tail wind). With the Eagle on getting 22-25 but as of yet haven't done a highways only trip with it. I am impressed with the power ...no more downshifting to 3rd and rocking in the seat. I have a big trip coming up ...definitely a test of whole truck. Off to Alaska from New England in June. I don't see the need for excess engine.... I just want enough not to worry. I sure do like the look the "gladiator" Jeep truck. It would have been perfect for the camper but could not wait... my 2001 Taco died... had to go with best I thought at the moment.
