Any suggestions on visiting the Grand Canyon and the Big 5 in Utah, plus where to stay?

There have been posts about camping at the North rim. Do you need a permit? Getting there from the North what roads.

Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks, jd

We camped at some of the areas you asked about 4 years ago this week.
Our stay at the North Rim was after the campground was"closed" limited restroom facilities, but still open until the first snow.
The road in is under the same rules. Nice this time of the year lots of color. Also might look into Kodachrome State Park just east of Bryce very nice quiet and great camp sites.
Zion and Bryce had visitors but just drove up and got a nice spot at Zion.Didn't camp at Bryce stayed at Kodachrome instead.
Jon check out my travel blog for the October 2013 trip.
Enjoy the visits.

We did that trip last fall. You can read our report here: http://travelswithrockythedog.blogspot.com/2016/10/north-rim-and-southern-utah-part-1.html

Lots to see in that part of the world. We enjoyed camping at the North Rim- we were there the last week facilities were open. We needed (and had) a reservation. Are you going now? You are getting close to the snow season.

Being later in the month, you should have better luck with crowds than we did at the National Parks.

Have fun.
