Fishon at Wishon

[CPT Davenport]

C&R around 30 bows and browns at Wishon yesterday. Small fish, but used super light rods to enhance the action. Getting cold up here! Winterizing my buddies cabin at Shaver Lake today then gonna see what she has to offer on the downriggers.

Not much luck on Shaver this morning. Rainbows haven't quite turned yet and the Kokanee are spawned out and spent . None the less it was warm and a beautiful day for a boat ride. It seems the lakes at higher elevation are more productive with the colder temps and the fish are triggered to feed and fill up for the long winter. Still a few weeks away for the lower lakes. A little drive and a moderate hike up the mountain yielded some feisty Eastern brookies that could not resist the hopper dry fly.
