Have a trip planned for next Monday 10-4-21 to the Eastern Sierra. Just a couple of nights. Going up Hwy 88 and then over to Monitor Pass. Down Hwy 395 with multiple stops along the way. Monday night going up Green Creek Road hoping to find dispersed camping. Tuesday continue south, tentative plan is Crowley Lake BLM campground. We have done this trip for several years it is one of the best times for the Eastern Sierras. Anyone have a favorite area they like to drive up to and view the fall color?

Bill, Julie and I took today and drove the perimeter of the Caldor Fire. The aspen in Hope Valley are just starting the change to fall colors. There are some very nice trees. Unfortunately, due to the critically dry conditions, some of the aspen are dropping dry leaves. The smoke was not too bad on 88 with nice crisp blue sky with white clouds at Carson Pass. Julie's not quite up to the climb up and down from the bunk for us to make a trip yet. Have fun! :)

Thanks for the comments. Going to take Hwy 4 to Monitor Pass. The construction of the "round-a-bout" at Hwy 88 and Liberty road is causing a 20 to 30 delay. May try to make Hope Valley at a later date. Ski I hope Julie's rehab is going well.
