We've been out exploring a few nice spots over the summer and fall. In fact, we haven't spent a weekend at home since back in May. It's been a good year of fishing, hiking and road trips with very little wildfire to get in the way of adventures.

A couple trips that may be of interest to those here:

First, our trip to Hart Mountain posted here: https://www.occidentalist.org/hart-mountain-2019/

And second, our trip to Steens Mountain to see the aspens turning color just posted today here: https://www.occidentalist.org/fall-on-the-steens-2019/

There's some other trip reports posted on the site as well, so take a look around once you check out these posts, but these were ones that I know are of interest with a few folks here.

I hope you are all having a great fall wherever you are wandering!

Boy, sure wish I was there with you. I had hoped to be near there (Sheldon NWR) , but things happened last month and I had to change my plans. So I guess I get to look at your neat photos and story lines instead, so thanks for taking me along !

Thanks all, for taking a look and the kind comments. It sure was pretty on the Steens. It's nice to see where others have been, unfortunately we can't be everywhere at once. If we could I'd have an awful long list for the fall!

Occidental, I really enjoyed your photos and narrative, great eye for beauty! While no one likes to see wildfires, it was cool to see the air tankers do there job. Thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks for the reports- beautiful country and fall colors too. We would like to explore the Steens someday. Our daughter spent a summer at the Hart refuge doing a bird census- we would like to get there too!
