Fire Extinguisher

They are so light and easily mounted I thought heck sure wouldn't hurt to have one. I got mine for $89 delivered. Thanks for the information. We heat with wood and we also have the flare type for chimney fires ... strike it and toss in the stove.... the gas produced extinguishes the fire. I keep them by the stove, never used one ( I sweep the chimney each year) but the only time I'll need it is if I didn't have it!

I heard back from Fire Marshal Kate, and she is very much in favor of the Element Fire Extinguisher. She stressed all of the points made by Jonathan, with emphasis on discharge time, size and accessibility, and the types of fires for which they are certified. I suspect Kate has them at home, in her Jeep, and with her on her BMW 1250 GS touring bike.
The Element is certified for A,B,C, and K fires.

While I still have concerns about their effectiveness, cost etc, I purchased one today. I let the smoke out of the inverter (no fire) today in the camper (too embarrassed to tell you the details) that's one area where it may be preferable. Small confined area with lots of electrical. Plus I have the perfect narrow spot by the door to mount it. I'll still use my other extinguishers for A/B fires.
