Was rewarded with fireworks show of Grand and Beehive Geyser for this 4th of July.

Cool temperatures today, jacket weather and 30 degrees this morning at campsite.

Was able to pass through yellowstone with no camping reservation and managed to get day by day campsite. 4 nights total with 3 different locations.

Walk out from late lunch and second showing of Old Faithful from different angle.

The geysers at YNP are always a treat.
We got to see one at Norris on our 2015 trip that hadn't been active in many years.
Can't put a name to it just now. awesome show of power.

thx for the pics. years ago i camped in YNP with youngest daughter. We braved the crowd mid-day at old faithful, and kind tourists in front of us, let my daughter get up front for a better view. at the end of the day/early eve, we drove back to old faithful, and took showers. i was quick, and then walked over to old faithful to wait for my daughter. there was No crowd, maybe 10-15 people, and got to watch old faithful blow. it was great.

I make use of the live stream of OF from the YNP website.
There is so much else to see from that camera.
Good way to see some wildlife roaming around the geyser area.

We are done with yellowstone and have drove on. It was a very good fourth of July day walking the Geyser basin.
