After 3+ years of enjoyment, I'm selling my 2000 Four Wheel Hawk with 1998 Ford F150 4x4 extended cab XLT package. I am located in Seattle, WA. I'm asking $11,500, which I believe to be substantially below FMV. I am selling because I just don't use it enough to justify paying insurance premiums and annual licensing renewal fees.

Camper has 3-way refrigerator, stove, sink, furnace, fantastic fan, Arctic liner, new deep cycle battery. Water pump is not working, but otherwise everything functions well. I have wired a manual switch for engine battery charging, and also wired connection for Honda e1000i, e2000i or e3000i generator plug-in with diode to protect generator. I also sewed a nice snug-fitting tarp for protection from sun and rain during storage.

F150 is in very good condition. 3-door, AC, new stereo (with iPod connection), 4.6 liter Romeo, MI engine, ABS, tach, power seat, 117k miles (but uses little or no oil between changes), Firestone air bag suspension, very strong runner, recent service (new injectors), just passed emission tests, April tags. Needs passenger side door lock, but otherwise in great running and cosmetic condition. NADA book value between $7500 - $10,500.

I am not very interested in separating the camper and truck. Its a great combo.

I can provide a pic upon request.

You scared me there. Licensing and insurance for a camper? Then I noticed it comes with a truck :D

Why are unwilling to separate the truck from the camper? Did you have your setup in rvtrader for a while? I believe I tried to buy your camper a year ago.

Hey, steve.
I believe you are in West Seattle with the green truck? Seen you around.

Too bad I just picked up a Hawk....that would be a sweet deal.
Would love to take a look at it one day. I am in west seattle as well.

If that is the same truck listed on the RVtrader site you missed a sale a year and a half ago. I emailed you and also called three times. For some reason you never contacted me. I bought my 1994 4X4 Sportsmobile in lieu of purchasing your rig. I'm glad I have my Sportsmobile but at the time I was very interested in your rig. Good luck with your sale!...captainkettel...

"I called and emailed a guy who had a Ford 150 4X4 with a Hawk on it 5 times. Either he liked it to much or changed his mind! Never would make contact. So this great deal came up for the Sportsmobile and I took it! I plan on still perhaps getting a Four Wheel camper."

Taken from a post I made on this forum in February 06, Sportsmobile vs. Four Wheel Camper.

Yes, that was me. I tried without success to remove the ad from RV Trader, which had been registered via a e-mail address that had become extinct when my former firm unexpectedly dissolved. The ad hung around RV Trader for >1 year despite my repeated efforts to delete the ad. I finally wended my way through the system at RV Trader and got the ad deleted. In the meantime, I had received many inquiries, and I was remiss in not replying to all of them. I apologize for that.

I am not interested in splitting the camper and truck simply as a matter of convenience. I am willing to deal on the price, so if someone wants the Hawk, they can sell the truck. That may not be an adequate explanation for some, but that's where I'm at.

I'm selling the camper because someone else could make better use of it. I spend much more time sleeping in a tent or bivi bag on my mountaineering and backcountry ski trips than I do in my camper. Last year, I slept in the camper 20 times, and I'm on a similar pace this year. At 20 nights per year, I'm averaging roughly $50 per night in insurance and licensing fees. Selling the camper to someone who will use it more than I is a good thing, I figure.

2000 Hawk no longer for sale

I did not receive an acceptable offer, so I'll be keeping the Hawk, i.e., my 2000 Hawk and F150 are no longer for sale.

My girlfriend, Anita, and my climbing/skiing/ultrarunning buddies are delighted that I'm not selling. Time for me to do some upgrades (e.g., add-a-room -- see recent post; new tires). Thanks for your responses and input.

And thanks to all who contribute to the forum. It's a wonderful resource.
