Just returned from a trip up North to visit some old friends and decided to take the leisure route on the way home. In all my travels, California's Pacific Coast Hwy 1 has to be one of my favorites. Here are some pics. The first is the old trestle bridge at Pudding Creek followed by some of the Mendocino coast.

My Neighbrohood

Gee this area must be a popular place, next time you better stop by and say hello, I guess i'm going to have to draw a map on how to get to Tow Missle headquaters. Great pics, I spend a fair amount of time in what we call Float Bag. Fish salmon off of Fort Ross, or at least we used to. Looks like we will be fishing salmon out of Sitka Alaska this year, had to buy an Alaska troll permit to stay in this business. The permit wasn't cheap so- PLEASE EAT MORE FISH

Jalama and your next steak.

Next time I'll make sure I look you up. I'm familiar with your area and Shelter Cove. Unfortunately my trip was cut short due to circumstances beyond my control. !$@&*!!! WORK.

Excellent Marc!

I wholeheartedly agree with your feelings about Hwy 1. Your pictures show exactly why. There just isn't another road (that I'm aware of...) like the PCH. The views, the quaint seaside villages, the marine life, lighthouses... it simply has it all.

You're a lucky guy to have it all right outside your back door. I always know it's gonna be a good read when you post up your latest outing. Looks like it got a little soggy but that's part of the deal I suppose.

Give my best to Mendocino. One of my favorite towns on the west coast.

Thanks KC. Your right, there is something about this area and its majestic tranquility that makes it all so special. I just wish I could be the one in the passenger seat for once.

I love that trip. Back when I still had hair (30 years ago) I did it on my bike. Older and wiser now I think I'll drive especially the climb out of Fort Ross heading toward Jenner. Great pix Marc.
