What are the collective thoughts concerning the FWC Project M build and options? I just received an email describing the Project M build so I assume it is new?

I see Stan recently did two videos on Project M....

Four Wheel Campers - 2021 Project M

Four Wheel Campers - Project M Power and Battery 2021

I was happy to see that as I had been in a Project M at Overland Expo East in October 2019 and was curious to look for changes since then.

My initial take in 2019 was I didn't like the scramble onto the tailgate or the awkward duck downward (while standing on the tailgate) to enter it. But once inside I was impressed by the choices FWC had made in building it.

I've seen some complaints about dust intrusion (because of the truck's tailgate) and water leaks at the camper-to-bedrail area. I think I'd also want some kind of screened opening on the back.

I imagine some folks would prefer the sides not overhang the bedrail but I think that makes a lot of sense.

Also:

This week YouTube has been offering me videos from a Project M owner on a channel called Teal Topper. I enjoy seeing what he's doing with his.

I like the concept, it allows you to continue to use your truck as a truck. Also intrigued by the AT Summit and Atlas. Old Crow has referenced the oft mentioned dust/sealing issues. The big issue for me...having to duck into the camper from the tailgate. I have to do that now with my hi-rise topper and as I get older it is a real pain in the neck...or lower back...literally. If either FWC or AT came up with the same design but with swing open doors (yes, you lose the tailgate) I’d be all over it. There is one other mfg out there that has those doors but for some reason (I can’t recall) I wasn’t overly impressed.

First Post —Hey everybody. Got my Project M in December and have only really added power (lithium and solar) and surf racks. That’s probably all I plan to add for now. So far I’ve been able to keep dust down with weather stripping from Amazon. Have spent about 6 nights in desert, beach and mountain camping. One large road trip from San Diego to Cedar City Utah went off without a hitch. So far, thoroughly satisfied. Only issue with it is the amount of people I get stopping me with questions. I don’t mind answering as this thing is super fun!
