Just backed the A-frame and truck down the drive at home, went around the corner to see the 2 year-old grandson, and had a beer (a Big Sky Brewing Moose Drool) while putting a few trip stats together:

4,999 miles driven (Raleigh, NC to Philipsburg, MT and back), $1,050 in diesel burned, 20 days away from home, fuel mileage while towing average in the 13.5 mpg range, four chance encounters with North Carolinians in MT and WY, three new friends made, two absolutely seat cover ripping descents, one river run in a livestock tank, and zero accesses of my office email account. Oh, and one very happy bride.

Terrific trip. This is one heckuva country. Found some places to take the grandson to in a few years, and met some genuine new friends.

Full report and pics soon.

Foy 2+ on the Moose Drool. Have to drive to Wisconsin to get or back to MT. Wear Moose Drool hat with pride.

Those trips are the best. We did a 10 state road trip in our Eagle a few months ago. You see a lot of great country and meet some great people along the way.

What a great and memorable road trip. New friends, experiences and most likely new things you learned about yourself. There is so much to see and experience right here in the good old USA. Looking forward to your full report and pics.
