This is the first trip for the combo 2017 F-150 3.5 eco 10 speed transmission. Payload at capacity 2150, Ranger 519VX at 3500 lbs. Air bags at 20 psi (Hellwig) and BFG-E tires at 70 psi rear/65 psi front. Road conditions dry, air temps 50-65 deg. Trip to The Lake Of The Ozarks for a four days of camping and fishing. Road topography flat in IL. to hilly and twisting in MO. Daylight traveled to avoid the over abundance of the deer on the route. Overall performance was exceptional in all areas, acceleration, handling, braking. Mileage was as expected 10.3-10.7 mpg depending on road conditions. Without the FWC I usually see 14-14.5 with the Ranger only and glass truck topper. As a every day driver with topper only 19-20.5 mpg depending. Handling the rig at the boat launch was a breeze for both launching and loading. Stock mirrors on the Ford offer plenty of vision on the road and ramp. Very happy with the entire setup for camping and fishing as a combo. Can’t wait until next year for a two week trip the the St.Lawrence for large and smallmouth bass. Ford-150/FWC highly recommend.

Is the truck equipped with the payload package? Nice Hybrid, good eats.

Tow package only. Payload 2150 rated. 36 gal tank, tow haul ten speed trans, brake controller. The standard cab gives this truck the 2150 payload rating. Some guys do have the F-150 with the 3000 payload package. I personally don’t think it is necessary for my use. I don’t leave the camper on year round so I can enjoy the economy when the camper is off. The ten speed transmission is smooth and responsive. In the tow haul mode rarely does it down shift below 7 on steep hills. This F-150 is by far the best truck I have ever owned.
