I'm shopping Craigslist, etc, for a used hawk or eagle shell. I have an F-150 and I'm conscious of weight. I see ads for older fwcs sometimes that make claims about the weight that I'm skeptical about. For example, there's a 1999 hawk shell for sale in San Francisco right now that says it weighs 550. I hear that fwcs weighed less in some years than they do now. I would love to have an idea how shell weights for Hawks and eagles actually changed over, say, the last 25 years or so. Can anyone cast light on this, or maybe just contribute individual data points that you're sure about?
