My wife & I will be driving to Colorado in June to pick up our new Hawk.

We plan on stopping at a few spots on the way back and experience the FWC lifestyle first hand.

I had previously bought a Thetford "Curve" port-potti for a trailer in which I returned back to the manufacturer a year ago because of the trailer leaking.

I was wondering if it (the toilet) would fit in the Hawks floor plans designated spot.

If somebody would be so kind as to take time to measure the 5 floor spaces in attached photo, I would be most grateful. (max. floor space & height in toilet area only) .

Thanks in advance.

ps .... late model Hawks only apply.

Thanks SD!
That helped with measurements 3, 4 and 5.

Needing the L x W x H of toilet area still.
What truck do you have? If your camper has the chevy notch you will lose about 2" on the floor. Can't use the measurement on my Hawk as I did a custom build on the inside. One thing to consider is the door is not centered on the Hawk unless you you buy the front dinette self contained. The door on my shell model is off set to the right, this means the porta pot will stick out a little into the door way. I do not have a picture looking into the door but it is not a problem.

The strap is important ;-) .

Don't know if pics help or not :(

The area is 17" high at the bottom of the wooden seat. That seat can easily be removed.

It is 20 5/8 inches deep at the side of the storage area under dinette seat.

It is 15 1/2 inches on the floor from the dinette seat to back wall of the trailer.

Shout if I can get you anything specific!!!!

YOU are the MAN, XJ! .
Thank you. I owe you a beer.

I'm going to take your measurements and compare as soon as I get off work ... my gut tells me it (Thetford "Curve" porta potti) will fit in the Hawk. :D

For those who may search for this info. in the future ....

Toilet height without lock-down base: 17.5"

Toilet height with lock-down base: 17-7/8"

Width of "Curve": 14.5"

Depth of "Curve": 17"

The FWC rear shelf will have to be either removed with use of "Lock-down" base ... or slightly modified in height for use without Thetford "lock-down" base.

I think it would be pretty easy to mod the cover to raise it at least 1/2 ". I just saw a post where you hinged your top and I'm going to do that on mine... but I already have clearance to slide mine under.

What type hinge did you use? Piano or some regular cupboard type hinge?

If you are ever in Waco area we can buy each other an Adult Beverage ;)

Bombsight, do you have any pictures of this potta portty in your Hawk? Did you modify the shelf?
I removed the shelf. I will now have to build a 2" high platform for the toilet to sit flat. The back door threshold impedes on the base of the Thetford Curve.
Will post pic as soon as I fab a base for it.

I ended up mounting my thetford curve on a 2x10 and 2x4 with 45 degree cuts on the door side edges. These were attached to the walls and the thetford floor plate. Seems fairly sturdy so far. Had to carve out some of the wall on the left for the flush handle actuation.

This is in a 2016 Hawk Shell model.

Yep ... we have to pull ours out every time in order to flush it.
