How about getting one of those aftermarket louvered tailgates, I don't think they are that expensive and they would support the camper allowing you to leave your nice shiny oem tailgate at home?

Or one could fairly easily build a support using the same basic concept as a tailgate for quite a bit less money?

Love that nightime shot of your rig! How old is your camper?

I have about a twenty year old Keystone on my full size GMC 4x4.
It still has the original Tan material the early campers were built with.

In an earlier post of mine I tried to describe how friendly, warm and
natural the old tan material used/still is... could be. Your photo
definitely say's it better than my words.

Your fabric looks to be in great shape! Not a flaw in it! Is in fact the original material your camper came with? Or, have you had it replaced?
