In line with staying local (relatively) I was thinking of visiting Hetch Hetchy. I've never been there. No idea where to camp.

Be aware that day trip visitors now need reservations to enter the park. If you have in-park reservations for camping/Half Dome/Tent cabins etc. then you do not need a separate entrance reservation.

What is different about visiting Hetch Hetchy?
The Hetch Hetchy area is open with day-use reservations not required. However, access is limited when parking fills. Hetch Hetchy Road is only be open from 8 am to 5 pm. Day visitors must exit the area prior to 5 pm.

Did a day trip there several years ago.
The trail along the lake is very nice.
You cross Wapama Falls on a bridge.
This is very thrilling as the water is very close to the walkway.
We were there mid spring several bears along the trail
looking for "handouts".
