Hunting Petroglyphs

This is a report from a trip earlier this year to visit a significant petroglyph site.
Numerous rock art sites have been found in the northern Sierra, dating from 800 to 4000 years old.

We're heading out this Labor Day with another site in mind. I know jeeps can drive to the lake in question, but I'm not sure if we will be able to do the last mile or so. We may have to hike in, to visit and record another Martis petroglyph site.

Thanks for posting your report. I did not know there are extensive petroglyphs in the northern Sierra - particularly on Donner summit.
