Went camping in early May, about 25 minutes from home, maybe 10 miles on a steep dirt road. Took a long day hike. I would have gone backpacking but I wanted to sleep on the comfy bed in the camper.

a contender for the largest Sierra Juniper, the arguments continue over how far from the ground the circumference is measured, what constitutes a separate "tree", how the "size" should actually be measured ......

That is a beautiful spot and trail into the Wilderness. We have always stopped and spent quiet time under that juniper. Thanks for sharing your adventure.

Have you seen my favorite rock? It is not far from the juniper, most easily spotted when heading back towards the saddle and Corral Valley.
