Thanks for the trip! I'm getting caught up a little late as we were just heading out on a trip to also escape the heat when this popped into the inbox.
I especially enjoyed part one, as I grew up fishing Angel Lake as a kid (at 70 or so miles it was the closest body of water to home), and spent a few years working on (and enjoying) the trails on the Lost River ranger district back in the 90's. Too bad its being overrun like so many places seem to be lately.
It's been tough to find a place to escape the heat and smoke this summer for sure, but it looks like you did pretty well!
