Does doing something like this take a special camera or can most DSLRs do it? And is it multiple shots put together as a video or is it filmed as a video? I could do nothing as nice as these but it would be fun to experiment.

If you do a lot of time lapses, it can be rough on your shutter count.

I have found the learning curves of photography to be much easier than thought of from start over the years.
