Spent the weekend installing trailer lights on the jack brackets so that when we carry our bikes on the Yakima hitch rack the brakes/turn signals, etc. are more visible - and hopefully keep the police happy! Took (mumble, mumble, mumble) hours to get them working right (I am NOT an electrician). Finally figured out to just run ground wires from everything to everything. Still have to make the wiring cleaner, but at least they work and I don't worry about being rearended quite so much.

Now that I have the basic wiring figured out, I need to wire in and mount a separate four way plug, wrap the wires in old bike inner tubes with zip ties and tuck wires away better. This set up make me much more comfortable driving in heavy traffic and worrying about the truck tail lights being obscured by the bikes.
