It's much cheaper than a zodi shower, but probably not as cheap as you could fabricate yourself. Many examples on wanderthewest.com and expeditionportal.com of homemade shower set ups.

It seems to me the reason the "Sun Shower" in all its incarnations works so well is because of surface area. We've used one for years. I love the elegance of the tube but it looks like it would take much longer to heat up.

That tube looks like it might have a glass (or other magnifying material) on the top. It might work just fine...

How about mounting the pvc pipe vertically on the jack supports and pressurize with a schaeder valve?

Mounting it vertically would diminish your ability to heat it up via the sun. The sell an accessory to raise one end when in use, to add pressure.

I'm fairly fine with my baby wipes - if I need more than baby wipes - I need more than this product offers. IMO.

The first time I saw one of these, I that it was pretty cool, but you need to have your engine warmed up. It might be good for cleaning up after running through the mud, but not for extended stays.

I rely on a washcloth and room (or should I say ambient) temperature water to freshen up. It's not as good as a shower. Something you guys might want to remember if we ever meet in person - you may want to note the wind direction.
