It's WILD in Portland!

Yesterday morning in Portland, Oregon -- a black bear:

And this wasn't out near the suburban/rural/wildland interface, this was in an urban residential area.
Wonder what his story was...?

'Tis the season in which the big old Mamas shoo their juveniles away to live on their own. The juveniles get out and roam, up to 50 miles a day. We had one crossing a major boulevard less than 2 miles from the State Capitol building on Monday. An extensive greenway system connects much of the city with the Neuse River and the Coastal Plain, and all kinds of critters end up deep inside of the city.

Here in CA the bears are going for a swim. From lake Tahoe yesterday
