Lamoille Canyon Fire - Nevada

Many of us have visited Lamoille Canyon in the Ruby Mountains. A few days ago a large portion of the canyon burned in a wildlands fire. Reports are here from the local Elko, NV newspaper -

Did they get the promised rain?

We've had trouble here in the Tucson area with people target practicing with explosive ammunition and starting a fire in the Santa Rita mountains. I hope that doesn't turn out to be the cause there. We were at Lamoille Canyon early last spring, but didn't get far up as snow blocked the road. People were having fun with snow machines though, jumping them right off the back of pick-up trucks.

You're welcome. The RCT is one of my favorite places. Looks like there's going to be an immediate effort to to start the restoration process. It's sad to think that the canyon will never look the same the remainder of my life!
